Over the next several years, it will become increasingly important for land trust organizations to demonstrate conscientious adherence to established standards and practices. The Land Trust Alliance has created a comprehensive set of Land Trust Standards and Practices, which are established guidelines for the responsible operation of a land trust.

TLTC is focused on building and sustaining the organizational capacity of Texas land trusts through training, technical assistance, needs assessment, and outreach. Our goal is to prepare Texas land trusts for successful fulfillment of all requirements in the accreditation process and prepare them to deliver on the promise of conservation in perpetuity.  Land trusts are required to meet all Indicator practices in order to receive accreditation. TLTC is working to help all Texas land trusts reach their conservation and organizational potential which will, in turn, further conservation progress and sustainability for the land trust movement as a whole.
